For the 2019/2020 holiday season, the Alaska Airlines brand studio developed a non-denominational aesthetic for the website, app, airport decor, and plane livery. It was my task to take this design kit and apply some holiday cheer to key digital experiences including an “Easter Egg” animation for the homepage.
Digital experiences within Alaska Airlines are divided amongst many stakeholders and product groups, so the task of developing unifying visuals throughout the site and app presented unique challenges. This campaign had to launch under a tight timeline that required approval of mockups, production of assets, and unique engineering challenges. The audience included millions of travelers purchasing plane tickets during the holiday season as well critique all the way to the top of the company.
Drive ticket sales during the holiday season, creating a winter campaign that would entice customers to look beyond the holidays for their travel plans and consider giving the gift of travel.
Develop a comprehensive deck outlining all intended applications of the holiday theme for stakeholder approval, produce mockups and work with developers to implement simultaneously, create a comprehensive tracking system to return the digital experiences back to their pre-holiday state, and memorialize the system so that future campaigns could be launched with organization and ease.
